We're Calling in Siiiick!

Powderhorn continues to improve its terrain parks. From beginner to expert, come to Powderhorn to tackle your first jump or perfect that back five.

Lower Peace Park

Located on Lower Peacemaker and easily accessible from the Easy Rider Lift or off the Flat Top Flyer. Primarily consisting of rails and boxes, this is the place to start learning all about freestyle terrain.

Upper Peace Park

This Park is all about logging airtime. A 3-jump line and advanced boxes and rails keep every run unique. Flow, rhythm, and enough rails to link a solid slopestyle run define the Upper Peace Park. Groomed daily for smooth riding. Dial this one in to achieve “Inner Peace”.

4 Main Parts of Smart Style

1. Make a Plan

  • Every time you use freestyle terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use.
  • Your speed, approach and takeoff will directly affect your maneuver and landing.

  • Before getting into freestyle terrain observe all signage and warnings.

  • Use your first run as a warm up run and to familiarize yourself with the terrain.
  • Do not jump blindly and use a spotter when necessary.

3. Easy Style It

  • Know our limits and ski/ride within your ability level.
  • Look for small progression parks or features to begin with and work your way up.
  • Freestyle skill require maintaining control on the ground and in the air.
  • Do not attempt any features unless you sufficient ability and experience to do so safely.

4. Respect Gets Respect

  • One person on a feature at a time.
  • Wait your turn and call your start.
  • Always clear the landing area quickly.
  • Respect all signs and stay off closed terrain and features.

Know the Code

Your Responsibility Code provides safety tips while on the slopes. Smart Style is a terrain park specific safety program that you should check out before using terrain parks. Freestyle terrain may include half-pipes, as well as terrain parks and terrain features. They are provided for your enjoyment and offer adventure, challenge, and fun. However, freestyle terrain use, like all skiing and riding, exposes you to the risk of serious injury.

Prior to using freestyle terrain, it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with all instruction and warning and to follow “Your Responsibility Code”.
  • Freestyle terrain contains man-made and natural terrain variations.
  • Freestyle terrain changes constantly due to weather and use.
  • Inspect freestyle terrain before using and throughout the day.
  • In jumping and using this terrain, you assume the risk of serious injury.
